Zenith 12-XP

The Zenit 12 produced in 1983-2000 years. Is similar to the 12SD and has LED exposure indicators in place of

the meter needle.

Format type is 24 x 36mm; using standard 35mm cassettes of 12, 20, 24 or 36 exposure colour or black and

white film. The Shutter is a horizontal travelling Focal Plane type, speeded 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/1250 and 1/500

second plus B (brief time), Linked to self-timer giving approximately 7 seconds delay. Electronic flash at 1/30

sec through “Hot-shoe’ or standard 3mm co-axial socket. Viewing/Focusing system is an Eye-level

pentaprism/instant return mirror shows upright laterally correct image, Bright Fresnel Focusing screen with

central microprism spot.

Exposure meter is Zenith 12 with built in CdS cell with LED indicators in the viewfinder. Power Source is two

Mallory D386 cells. Zenith 11 Selenium cell with match-needle read out. Both meters calibrated for 16-500

ASA/13-28 DIN. Frame Counter Additive 0-36 manual resetting type.

Standard lens is Hellio 44m-4, 58mm Focal length. Lens Mount is 42mm thread, accepts standard single pin

automatic lenses and accessories Construction: 6 elements in 4 groups Diaphragm Type is fully automatic

instantly re-open. Aperture range F2-F16 with click stops at full and half apertures (except between F11 and F16)

Distance Scale is 0.5 to infinity. Filter size is 52mm screw.

Alternative Lenses: Hellos wide angle 28mmand 1 35mm Telephoto lenses. USSR brand is Mirror Lenses, MTO
